Description
PBX is looking for an Electrical Technologist or Electrical Technician to work with the Municipal Utilities team and other engineers in delivering projects in Victoria, BC.

About the Role
Working closely with other engineers, the Electrical Technologist or Electrical Technician will be a key member of the Municipal Utilities team, with responsibility for project tasks in the following areas:
- Prepare calculations
- Prepare cost estimates
- Produce drawings in AutoCAD format
- Prepare specifications, reports, technical memos, and other project documentation
- Attend meetings
- Provision of client liaison and project management services
- Conduct site inspections
- Witness and/or perform system commissioning and troubleshooting
- Assist with business development activities, as and when appropriate
- Travel to site locations as required
Qualifications
Core Qualifications
The preferred and required skills of a successful candidate are listed below:
- Diploma from an Electrical Engineering Technology program or equivalent from a recognized technical institute
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Eagerness to learn and a positive, professional attitude
- Able to effectively deal with a high level of responsibility and demanding work schedule
- Strong computer skills including good working knowledge of the MS Office suite
- Strong and demonstratable working knowledge of the AutoDesk AutoCAD software package
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, where demands and deadlines shift frequently
- A professional demeanor
- Must be located in Victoria, BC
Desirable Qualifications
The following qualifications are desirable, but not essential (if you don’t have them and you’re the right person for the role, we’ll support your training and development in these areas):
- Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code
- Working knowledge of the AutoDesk AutoCAD Electrical software package
- 1-2 years of relevant experience
Compensation
The range of compensation for this position is $60,000 to $80,000 base salary per annum. This salary range is provided specifically for compliance to provincial legislation. The actual salary will depend on the skills, experience, and capabilities of the successful candidate relative to the role and may or may not land within the range specified above.
