PBX is looking for an Electrical Engineering Co-op student to work with the team in Calgary, AB for the Fall 2026 term, for a 4, 8, or 12 month co-op placement.

About the Role

Working closely with other engineers, the Electrical Engineering Co-op will be a key member of the team, with responsibility for project tasks in the following areas:
  • Client liaison and project management
  • Prepare calculations and simulations
  • Prepare cost estimates
  • Produce drawings
  • Prepare specifications, reports, technical memos, and other project documentation
  • Attend meetings
  • Conduct site inspections
  • Perform system commissioning and troubleshooting
  • Develop software
  • Working with senior engineers on electrical and system design for various types of electrical infrastructure
  • Developing detailed design drawings and specifications
  • Assisting with trouble-shooting on facility design and operating problems

This position will offer:

Qualifications

The preferred and required skills of a successful candidate are listed below:
  • Currently enrolled in a Canadian college or university and eligible to complete a co-op work term through an accredited co-operative education program
  • Strong, results-focused work ethic
  • Self-motivated personality, with demonstrated initiatives
  • Proven technical skills
  • Eagerness to learn and a positive, professional attitude
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, where demands and deadlines shift frequently
  • A professional demeanor
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • A Canadian Provincial Driver's Licence. (A full driver's licence (Class 5) is preferred but an N (Class 7) or Class 5-GDL Licence is sufficient)
  • Work Duration: 4, 8 or 12 months. Please state CLEARLY in your cover letter whether you are available for a 4, 8 or 12 month co-op term.

Compensation

The range of compensation for this position is $26/hr to $29/hr.

This salary range is provided specifically for compliance to provincial legislation. The actual salary will depend on the skills, experience, and capabilities of the successful candidate relative to the role and may or may not land within the range specified above.
